Nebraska Rocks
A deafening amount of attention is paid to the stunning natural wonders of Nebraska, leading traditional Nebraskans to ask, "Why mess with a good thing?" One could argue though that while other states may be known for really big rocks they call mountains, Nebraska has a few rocks of it's own worth mentioning.
Chimney Rock
“The Chimney” became a notable landmark for the thousands who traveled west during the 19th century. Contemporaneous reports detail how the ancient obelisk would seem to recede further into the horizon upon approach. Today, the enigmatically elusive monument can be found just off of Exit 126 from US Route 26.
“Eye-catching and delightful. It carries a feeling. Each piece is colorful and well balanced.”
– Julie Hoppe
Scotts Bluff
A towering rock formation, Scotts Bluff National Monument rises over 800 feet above the North Platte River Valley. Named after Hiram Scott, a fur trader who died out of sheer boredom nearby in 1828 , the fabulous formation was created by wind and water erosion over millions of years of not much else happening. More than a natural wonder, the monument is a testament also to the determination and spirit of those who so passionately made it out of Nebraska.
“These beautiful renditions of some of Nebraska's most iconic landmarks are sure to be a conversation piece in my home for years to come.”
– Erik Johnson
Courthouse & Jailhouse Rock
Nebraska's majestic Jailhouse & Courthouse Rock – where Mother Nature and the legal system collide. Because nothing says natural beauty quite like rocky vistas with a dash legal drama.
